Hello, my name is Ida, I am a Professional Massage Practitioner providing Therapeutic Massage using various Structural Rebalancing techniques. I am based in Eastbourne and I cover other areas of East Sussex.
Being a Registered Nurse for the past seventeen years, I specialized in caring for people with HIV, cancer, and other chronic medical conditions. This experience enabled me to understand how stress and illness can influence your body’s general health and performance. My nursing experience has proved to be invaluable when talking to my massage client’s and assessing their needs, which has helped improve my massage service.
I chose to be a Massage Practitioner as I became increasingly aware of the many health benefits Therapeutic Massage provides. My clients are both male and female of all ages with varying physical ailments.
Therapeutic Massage has many benefits for all ages from infancy to old age. Touch Research Institute, The University of Miami, Florida continuously provide research on the subject of Massage and how it can help all ages and various medical and psychological conditions.
I qualified as a Massage Practitioner with a distinction, at the London College of Massage. The course involved studying Anatomy and Physiology, and applying this knowledge to the practical skills required for Therapeutic Massage. The Qualification also required the completion of a project. The project involved massaging three clients over a period of three months and assessing their response to the treatment I provided them. I’ve since completed other remedial courses, such as Myofascial Release and more recently a diploma in Structural Rebalancing. This treatment has been a natural progression from Therapeutic Massage to a more advanced treatment of Structural Rebalancing. Providing my client’s with a more detailed treatment plan, thereby relieving discomfort and increasing their ability to move more freely.
Why Therapeutic Massage?
Using various advanced massage techniques and incorporating my nursing knowledge, I provide my clients with an individual treatment plan. The treatment involves a 15 minute consultation assessing your posture and range in movement. With this information, I focus the treatment on the areas that need attention. Using a range of massage techniques and providing advice on after care, will improve your range in movement allowing you to move freely. It is advisable to continue with the treatment and after care to maintain your range in movement.
